MeetBritney Olivares RM
Hi! My name is Britney, or Brit, and I’m thrilled to be a part of Pacific Midwifery Practice as a solo midwife, alongside Terry Lyn and Sophie. I was born and raised in North Vancouver and am a second-generation immigrant of Mexican and European descent. I’ve always felt that it was my purpose in life to be a midwife, supporting families through one of the most meaningful and transformative times in their lives.
I am passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-informed care that supports informed choice, autonomy, and emotional well-being. I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people feel heard, respected, and supported in making the decisions that are right for them and their families.
Before my Bachelor’s in Midwifery, I completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a Minor in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. My background in anatomy, physiology, epidemiology, nutrition, and the social sciences continues to shape how I approach to care and understanding of health throughout the childbearing journey.
While I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outdoors or immersing in a creative project. I love surfing, skiing, running, cycling, and pottery. I’m also an avid traveler!
I’m truly grateful to be part of the Pacific team. I love building relationships with the families in our care and feel incredibly privileged to walk alongside them throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
