Britney Olivares RM

Hello! My name is Britney, or Brit, and I’m thrilled to be a part of Pacific Midwifery Practice as a solo midwife, alongside Terry Lyn. I’m grateful to live and work on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

I am a second-generation immigrant of Mexican/European descent, born and raised in North Vancouver. My path to midwifery was shaped by a deep-rooted interest in reproductive health and a commitment to supporting individuals and families through one of life’s most transformative experiences. I’m especially passionate about upholding choice, autonomy, and emotional well-being throughout the childbearing journey. My practice is grounded in the values of equity, inclusivity, and accessibility—particularly for those who have been marginalized within our healthcare system.

Before studying midwifery, I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with a Minor in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. My background in anatomy, physiology, epidemiology, and the social sciences continues to shape how I understand and support health across the perinatal period.

Outside of midwifery, I recharge through creative expression and time in nature. I love skiing, surfing, camping, and hiking with my spirited border collie, Max. I’m an artist who enjoys working across many mediums, a passionate world traveler, and I speak conversational Spanish.

I’m truly honoured to begin this new chapter and look forward to meeting all the growing families in our care!
