Meet

Sophie Taylor

Hello! My name is Sophie and I am so pleased to work alongside Terry Lyn and Britney as a solo midwife at Pacific Midwifery. Growing up, I always wanted to be a midwife, even before I truly knew what a midwife was! Pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period can be a time of such excitement, vulnerability and change and I love being able to support families through this time in their lives. I get so much joy from empowering clients to make decisions that feel right for them, through providing personalised and evidence-based care.

I grew up in London, UK and I completed my midwifery training in 2018 at the University of Nottingham. I worked within the national health service, providing care across a broad demographic of clients within the hospital and the community, until 2024, when I moved to Vancouver. I enjoyed the laid-back lifestyle the city has to offer, before meeting Terry Lyn, who inspired me to gain my Canadian midwifery license! Alongside my midwifery education, I have a master’s in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, with a focus on health promotion and sexual & reproductive health which are such key topics within midwifery care.

I am so excited to work with pregnant people of our neighbourhood, building close working relationships with clients and families in our care. It is such an honour to be a part of your journey!
